Our green shades of Fossil Coral
are, like Celadon, the ancient
Chinese ceramic ware,
made to resemble jade.
It is very appropriate for

to have both coral and jade.
But green does not suit everyone...
Nowadays various Red Corals have become available to us.
And so we also have introduced

Prior to the age of Queen Victoria, Coral was the gift of choice for 35th Wedding Anniversaries. At that point some retail organizations, with an eye on either boosting sales, or updating some ancient ideas, began to suggest Jade (a much more expensive material) as the appropriate gift to give.
Jade and Celadon
The Coral Studio has melded together these two 35th Anniversary ideas, Coral and Jade, into the subtle and muted color range we call “Celadon Green”. This color has been carefully designed and named in honor of the antique Chinese ceramic ware known as “Celadon”. With their love of beautiful Jade articles, the Chinese sought to represent Jade in pottery with this very special green color. True examples of Celadon fetch fabulous prices today.
Being made with Coral . . . and being available in green . . .
The Coral Studio, in either case, has the perfect 35 Anniversary gift for you to purchase. If possible, your first choice should be from our Celadon Green Gallery because this covers both the Coral and the Jade. However, if green is not acceptable for any reason, then any of our other colors will be an excellent choice as they are all made using Coral. (Fossil Coral Rock, to be precise, as using this does not harm the environment.)
Although many of our pieces are more particularly directed at tropical wildlife enthusiasts, we have found that our frogs, tortoise, boxes, clocks, and our "Caribbean Scene" wall plaque,

The list of traditional wedding anniversary gifts was started in Europe around the end of the 17th and beginning of the 18th century.
The list grew over time until it covered individually all the years one to fifteen and then every five years up to the Seventy Fifth Year. This was the original Diamond Anniversary.
In 1897, when Queen Victoria celebrated her Diamond Jubilee on the sixtieth anniversary of her accession to the throne of England, a new trend began.
The idea arose that, as not many couples survive to celebrate 75 years of marriage, 60 years might be more a appropriate date.
And that is how it remains today. |

All The Coral Studio's "Virgin Island Fossil Coral" line are made using Fossil Coral Rock from on land in the British Virgin Islands.
Live coral lives underwater, and Fossil Coral can be found there too, but we use Fossil Coral exclusively gathered from on shore.
It's also absolutely unique because no one else in the world makes figurines this way.
